I confini della città
Il Progetto nato nel 2001 è un laboratorio di indagine visiva sulle strutturazioni e sulle trasformazioni della periferia urbana fiorentina. Un work in progress, che facendo propri alcuni dei fondamentali aspetti concettuali e formali della fotografia contemporanea di esplorazione del territorio, interpreta i complessi elementi del paesaggio come segni rivelatori delle tendenze economiche, sociali e culturali della città. Una città che ad un nucleo storico imbalsamato (la ormai famosa città-vetrina) contrappone una periferia allargata, diffusa, priva di confini certi e stabili, in cui si fanno spazio quelle nuove forme di socialità e consumo che sono specchio di una nuova condizione economica e sociale.

The edges of the city
The project was born in 2001 and it is a laboratory of visual investigation on the structuring and the transformation of the urban periphery of Florence. A work in progress which, endorsing some of the basic conceptual and formal aspects of contemporary photography in exploring the territory, interprets the complex elements of the landscape as telltale signs of economic, social and cultural trends of the city. A city that counters an historic center embalmed (the now famous city-showcase) with an enlarged and diffused periphery, without definite and stable borders, where new forms of sociability and consumption, that are the mirror of a new economic condition and social development, make their own space.
